The RN functions as an integral member of the team and is responsible for providing personalized patient care in the peri-operative setting.  The RN's communication, conduct and performance should support the ASC efforts in becoming a High Performance Organization.

 
Primary Responsibilities:

Provide nursing care in the peri-operative setting (pre op, phase 1, phase 2)Ability to safely care for patients from pediatrics to geriatrics in a high volume/fast-paced environmentMaintain a clean, neat and efficient working environmentPerform ECG, urine pregnancy, glucometer, I-stat testing/lab draws, bladder scan, insertion of PIV as requiredManage patient's admission to the ASC, recovery, and discharge from the ASCAssess the status of the patient in pre op and ensure patient identification is accurateEnsure patients consents are accurate and completeAssess pre-operative vital signs to ensure they are within acceptable parameters for scheduled the surgical procedurePerform an initial assessment on arrival in the PACUManage patient's airways to include airway adjunct managementPlan and document in the EHR (EPIC)Administer narcotic and non-narcotic medication per facility protocolPrepare and assist anesthesia provider with patients receiving blocksManage emergency situations and provide effective resuscitation using bag/valve/maskFollow established policies and procedures related to the positionPrepare patients for discharge and provide discharge instruction educationUnderstand and deliver quality customer service consistent with the FHSC efforts in becoming a High Performance OrganizationFollow HIPPAA regulationsAdapt and perform effectively in a continuously changing environmentCoordinate the patient's transition through the peri-operative processMaintain a team supportive attendance recordCommunication, conduct and dress to portray a professional quality at all times and are in compliance with the ASC appropriate surgical attire policyPerform other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor RN

Required Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited school of nursingActive Registered Nurse license through the Washington State Department of HealthBasic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare providers (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification for Healthcare providers (AHA) is required within 3 months of hirePALS certification may be required but may be obtained within the first six months of hire1+ years of experience working as a Registered Nurse

 

Preferred Qualification:

2+ years of perioperative nursing (OR), post anesthesia care unit (PACU), ER or ICU experience 

 

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $28.27 to $50.48 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
