Job Description

The Print Room Associate operates high-volume printing and inserting equipment to produce paychecks, advices, invoices, and other confidential, business-critical documents. This role ensures accurate and timely execution of print jobs using specialized software, supports basic equipment maintenance, and serves as a key point of contact for print room issues while working collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

Operate high-volume printing and inserting equipment to produce paychecks, advices, invoices, and other confidential business-critical documents according to business requirements.Execute print jobs using PeopleSoft and other print software applications, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.Perform basic maintenance on printers and inserters, including routine checks and minor troubleshooting to keep equipment running smoothly.Maintain weekly checklists and equipment maintenance logs to document work performed and ensure consistent operational standards.Act as a point of contact for issues arising in the print room and collaborate with team members, vendors, and business partners to resolve problems promptly.Handle and organize printed materials, including lifting and moving boxes of paychecks and other documents as needed.Follow established procedures and security protocols to protect confidential information and maintain data integrity.Support a fast-paced, team-based environment by communicating effectively and assisting colleagues during peak workloads.Provide basic administrative support related to print operations, including data entry and documentation of completed jobs.

Essential Skills

High school diploma or equivalent.Entry-level to 2 years of experience in a related role such as print room operations, administrative support, or data entry.Ability to execute jobs using PeopleSoft or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.Basic office skills, including familiarity with standard office equipment and procedures.Strong data entry skills with attention to accuracy and detail.

Work Environment

This role is based in a normal to small print room environment with approximately 5–10 people working on each shift, depending on operational needs. The scheduled shift is Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m., for approximately 12–15 hours per week. The environment is fast paced and can be noisy at times due to three large print machines that may run simultaneously. Teamwork is essential, and associates regularly collaborate to complete high-volume print jobs. The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs when handling boxes of paychecks and other printed materials, and to work safely around large printing and inserting equipment.

This is a Contract position based out of Hanover, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.
