Day in the Life of a Pharmacy TechnicianWrite patients name, dose, and number of takeout on corresponding patient’s signature log and on proper log (liquid of tablets)
Review each patient’s flags prior to dosing
Ensure accuracy of patient’s dose be verifying against “dose level” and flags.
Ensure each patient signs log prior to dosing
Check ID or confirm digital photograph in Methasoft software matches patient
Security of Methadone at dosing window
Enforce “lock box” policy
Enforce and check for patient names and dates on returned bottles from previous dosing
Ensure adequate ordering of pharmacy supplies
Maintain cleanliness and organization of pharmacy and supplies
Utilize appropriate sink for cleaning of pharmacy dispensing equipment and alert Director when
Leaving “secure” area with dispensing equipment
Ensure smooth workflow
Education and Experience requirementsAt minimum, High School Diploma or GED required.
Pharmacy Technician certification required
Hours and ScheduleMonday-Friday; 7:00am-11:00am
OR
Four days a week (Monday-Friday); 7:00am-12:00pm
Schedule is subject to change depending on Pharmacist availability.
