Part Time Kitchen Staff Silver bay, NY (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=87+silver+bay+RD+Silver+bay+NY+USA+12874) Job Type Part-time Description POSITION SUMMARY:Under the direction of the Sous Chef, Kitchen Staff are responsible for maintaining cleanliness of all equipment used in the preparation and service of meals, as well as all areas of the food service department. Kitchen Staff assist and general food preparation. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:N/A ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: + Washes and sanitizes all pots, pans, equipment, flatware, glasses, and food service-related wares. + Cleans, organizes, and sanitizes the dish room, pot sink surfaces, equipment, and floors. + Assist with processing orders and help with general food preparation + Using the daily schedule, maintains the cleanliness of the dining hall, kitchen, coolers, dry storage areas, loading dock (where orders are received), and surrounding areas. + As a 24-hour operation, all staff may be asked to work weekends, evenings, or night shifts and/or holidays in order to serve our members, guests, and program participants. + Any other duties, as requested. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: · A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. · A minimum of 1-2 years of experience as kitchen staff, including dishwasher, is preferred. · Demonstrated ability to follow directions and meet food service health and safety standards. · Demonstrated ability to be alert, thorough, detail-oriented, and work effectively with others in a noisy and fast-paced environment. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:This position requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop or kneel for prolonged periods; must be physically able to access and navigate all areas of dining and catering services. Other physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 25 pounds at a time and to work in excessive heat, damp and cold, as required in association with the kitchen environment.
