Basic Functions

 

PART- TIME FACULTY, HEAVY EQUIPMENT SERVICE 

 

This is a continuous recruitment for an applicant pool to fill part-time faculty (up to 67%) or temporary substitute assignments on an as needed basis. 

 

We accept part-time faculty applications on a continual basis.

 

Departments or Divisions will refer to the pool of applications on file, as needed, to fill temporary assignments.

 

The number of part-time faculty hired varies from semester to semester, depending upon the needs of the department. Your application will be maintained in this part-time faculty pool for 12 months.

 

Representative Duties

 

Requirements

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

 

Any bachelor's degree and two (2) years of professional experience, OR any associate degree and six (6) years of professional experience OR the equivalent.

 

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: 

Experience repairing and maintaining heavy equipment common to mining operations including:

 

• Inspects, maintains, and repairs all types of mobile equipment and stationary engines.

• Performs inspections, maintenance and repairs per established manufacturer procedures with detailed documentation of defects and corrections.

• Performs metal welding and cutting operations as necessary for maintenance and repair of mobile equipment and stationary engines.

• Safely operates cranes, hoists, and other specialized service equipment in performance of duties.

• Maintains and repairs tires heavy equipment tires.

• Maintains a clean and safe working environment.

• Follows established procedures for ordering parts and returning cores as necessary.

 

• Experience teaching technical courses including course planning from an established Course Outline, providing direct instruction, supervising students in a laboratory environment, assessing student progress, providing tutoring and remediation as necessary, and determining pass/fail based on accepted standards from industry and government entities.

 

NOTE: This is not a Heavy Equipment Operator program at this time.
