We are looking for a part-time experienced Cook for ShelterCare's Medical Respite Unit (SMR). What we offer:

The Cook at SMR is responsible for providing breakfast, lunch, and one meal to go for dinner Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The cook will also prepare meals to be served on the weekends. You will create shopping lists, create and maintain a weekly meal plan, clean the kitchen after each meal when on duty, and maintain all hygiene standards for the kitchen and food pantry.

The starting wage for this position is $19.18 to $20.20 /per hour depending on a number of factors. The schedule for this position is Friday from 8:30 am to 3 pm; Saturday and Sunday from 7:30 am to 3 pm.

ShelterCare is a social services agency that is directed by a board of community volunteers . We have multiple programs in the Eugene/Springfield area. We offer a range of housing solutions combined with wraparound services for families and community members who are homeless or on the verge of homelessness. This includes adults who are homeless, have been homeless in the past, have a serious mental illness, or a combination of these. Because of the variety of services we offer, we are able to help many people in our community.

What you bring to ShelterCare:
Required
Six months of experience cooking for large groups of people; Must pass a DHS Background Check; Must be able to drive agency vehicles; Be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. while walking 120 feet from store room to kitchen; Push and pull a cart up and down a long ramp with up to 150 lbs on it; Stand for long periods of time
