No County Orleans Street Address Lakeside State Park Route 18 City Waterport State NY Zip Code 14571 Duties Description The selected candidate will work under the direct supervision of the Park Supervisor 1, SG-11, or their designee on the maintenance crew. Duties shall include, but are not limited to: • Perform routine grounds maintenance tasks within Lakeside State Park and Oak Orchard State Marine Boat Launch. • Perform routine cleaning tasks for restrooms and facility buildings within Lakeside State Park and Oak Orchard State Marine Boat Launch.• Operate various hand and power tools such as weed eaters, backpack and handheld leaf blowers, shop vacuums, and battery-operated cleaning equipment.• Operate light and medium-duty vehicles.• Operate skid steers, tractors, and mowers as needed.• Water flowerbeds and maintain park garden areas.• Clean fire-pits and campground electric pedestals within the campground. • Collect refuse/recycling within the campground and throughout the parks.• Assist with tree and brush cleanup as needed. • Assist higher-level staff with basic trades projects as needed. Minimum Qualifications There are no minimum qualifications per Civil Service.See Additional Comments for operational needs. Additional Comments OPERATIONAL NEEDS: • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that allows the candidate to legally operate a motor vehicle in New York State as a term and condition of employment.• Must have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task.• Must have the ability to perform medium to heavy physical labor and lift a minimum of 30 pounds. • Must have the ability to work in all weather conditions.• Must have the ability to sit, stand, bend, and squat for various periods of time.• Must be able to work a variable schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays especially during the peak operating season between May and October.BENEFITS:This position has the option to join the NYS Employee’s Retirement System and is eligible for health insurance, dental and vision coverage.
