Job Title: Paraprofessional (K–12 Classroom Support) Position Summary The Paraprofessional provides direct instructional, behavioral, and social support to students under the supervision of a certified teacher. This role plays a vital part in creating structured, inclusive learning environments where all students—particularly those with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)—can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally Key Responsibilities Behavior Management * Create a structured yet welcoming classroom environment by assisting the teacher of record with managing challenging behaviors. * Reinforce classroom expectations and support students in meeting behavioral goals. * Implement positive reinforcement strategies and contribute to restorative or trauma-informed practices. Progress Monitoring * Support the teacher of record by administering, scoring, and recording formative assessments. * Track and document students’ progress toward IEP or academic goals. * Maintain accurate, confidential records of student performance and growth data. Supervision * Ensure a safe and supportive school environment by supervising students during recess, lunch, passing periods, and other unstructured times. * Promote positive interactions, safety, and inclusion during all school activities. * Assist with transitions between classrooms and school spaces to maintain student focus and safety. Academic Support * Provide instructional support through small-group or one-on-one assistance to help students master key concepts. * Chunk course content into manageable steps to enhance understanding and retention. * Collaborate with classroom teachers and special education staff to adapt materials and teaching strategies to meet students’ diverse needs. Requirements / Qualifications

Qualifications * High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred. * Prior experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred. * Familiarity with special education, IEP implementation, or behavioral support plans a plus. * Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills. * Commitment to equity, inclusion, and student success.

Minimum 3 months working with Special Education. Full resume, 3 x references, (1 education based), I9, Livescan, TB clearance, Bloodborn Pathogens training, Mandated Reporting training, Sexual harassment training.
