Location/Division Specific Information
Our global Clinical Operations colleagues within our PPD® clinical research services provide end-to-end support for clinical trials from study start up to monitoring through to study close out, across commercial and government contracts. Together, we help clients define and develop clinical programs, minimize delays, and execute high-quality, cost-efficient clinical studies.
Ideal candidates will be located in, or willing to self-relocate to, Austin, TX.
When not working at our Austin site, this role will require up to 75% travel to other sites within our US site network to support clinical study initiatives, gaps, and surges.

Working under the direction of the chief physician/investigator and under the general supervision of the paramedics Manager, ensures subject safety, health and well-being. Continually monitors the subject population at all times, noting and treating adverse events (AEs) as needed. Determines when/if an adverse event should be brought to the attention of the physician/investigator.

Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to at least 4 years which should include 3 years experience as a Paramedic on an ALS unit and/or in a clinical setting).In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment:
Work is performed in a clinical environment.Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms.May require long and varied working hours.Frequently stands, twists waists, squats, and bends neck for 4—6 hours per day.Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Ability to make precise coordinated movements, of the fingers to grasp and manipulate objects.Frequent mobility required.Occasional crouching, stooping, bending and twisting of upper body and neck.Moderate lifting (or otherwise movement, carrying, setting, and placement)of 15-30 lbs. with a maximum lift of 35 lbs.Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf.Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.May interact with others, relating and gathering sensitive information. This is a non-exempt role that will also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. Compensation will be initially discussed during the screening period, with actual compensation confirmed in writing at the time of offer.
