Paramedic Salary $30.07 - $39.32 Hourly Location Iowa City, IA Job Type Full-time Job Number 00778 Department Ambulance Opening Date 09/19/2025 Closing Date 9/24/2025 5:00 PM Central + Description + Benefits Definition & Duties Under direction of the Ambulance Director, the Assistant Director, and/or Field Supervisor, responsible to provide paramedic level patient care in accordance with the ambulance service protocols and under the auspices of the medical control physician or physician designee. Minimum Education, Training & Experience & Special Requirements High school graduate or equivalent and successful completion of the prescribed course curricula at an approved paramedic program as determined by the Iowa State Bureau of EMS and successful completion of at least 300 hours of classroom instruction, 150 hours of clinical experience, and 150 hours of ambulance/rescue field experience. Special requirements: Must pass background check. Current EMT-Paramedic certification in the State of Iowa and current ACLS, BLS, PALS provider certifications. As a mandatory reporter, maintain approved training on child and dependent adult abuse reporting requirements. Valid driver’s license and insurable under county liability coverage.
