We're looking for an experienced Paralegal / Claims Handler to join our growing Property & Casualty team in Bristol. You'll be part of a vibrant insurance group working on a broad range of complex property damage matters - from fire and flood to construction and subsidence - for major UK insurers and insureds.

What You'll Be Doing:

In this exciting and varied role, you'll take the lead on a portfolio of subrogated property recovery claims, managing them from first instruction through to litigation when necessary. You'll have autonomy over your caseload and the opportunity to make a real impact, with claims ranging from £10,000 to several million pounds.

Key Responsibilities:Run a caseload of property insurance claims, including subrogated recoveriesManage claims through pre-action stages and, where necessary, issue proceedingsEnsure timely, high-quality client service in line with SLAs and internal best practiceMaintain accurate management information and documentationCollaborate with colleagues across teams and offices to support a seamless client experienceContribute to business development and team initiatives where appropriate
What We're Looking For:Proven claims handling experience with responsibility for managing a caseload is very desirableLitigation experience and a sound working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR)Experience in the insurance sector is a plus, but not essentialStrong understanding of legal proceduresExcellent written and verbal communication skillsCommercial awareness with a proactive, solutions-focused approachStrong attention to detail and effective organisational skillsConfident using Microsoft Office and case management systemsA collaborative, inclusive mindset and willingness to be part of a supportive team
