JOB SUMMARY
The Paralegal Analyst is a legal support professional with paralegal skills such as project, case and litigation management, research, and document drafting, with the technical and analytical abilities of a legal analyst. They perform legal and project management tasks necessary to support the Legal Department with litigation management, including the preservation, collection, and analysis of company record. Work may involve supporting the Legal Department in responding to and managing disputes, claims, subpoenas, and litigation relating to: labor and employment, consumer protection and billing, real estate, public accommodation disputes, claims, and litigation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES
* Under direction of attorney, provide claims and litigation support in a variety of areas, including: Commercial, Consumer, Pubic Accommodation, Real Estate law, and other areas of law.
* Review and analyze legal claims and notices to identify, preserve, and collect records and electronically stored information via the Company's Legal Hold processes. Organize, review, analyze and summarize records and information for attorneys. Self-serve pulling certain records from Company HRIS and Membership Information systems.
* Review and prepare responses to record requests and discovery requests from outside counsel.
* Manage the reporting of insurance claims, respond to adjuster requests for information, and maintain organized records of same with regard to various lines of coverage applicable to the Company's claims and litigation.
* May, under direction of attorney, resolve routine legal issues involving internal and external member and employee complaints; research, investigate and assist in the preparation of government agency responses.
* Assist counsel with the development of training and presentation materials for various audiences, including but not limited to the executive leadership team and the Board of Directors, collaborating on the incorporation of metrics and visual displays to assist in budgeting and decision-making.
* Monitor and asses high priority inquiries to facilitate prompt response, mitigation of risk, and legal compliance.
* Serve as Legal Department liaison for witnesses in company litigation.
* Research law, investigate facts and prepare documents for attorneys, as needed.
* Research and analyze law sources such as statutes, recorded decisions and legal codes to prepare legal documents such as government agency responses, declarations, general release and settlement agreements for review, approval and use by attorneys.
* Principally responsible for managing matter management and e-billing, systems. Create, run, and schedule reports reflecting metrics as requested by the Legal Department, Finance, Human Resources, and other Legal partners.
* Support cross-over projects within the Legal Department, in support of Real Estate, Corporate and GC functions, on as needed basis.
ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS
This person has no direct reports. This person works with General Counsel, Sr. Corporate Counsel, senior paralegals and legal assistants, outside counsel, insurance adjusters and third-party administrators, and other Company business functions as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
* Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and at least one matter management & billing system.
* Proficient in recommending and collaborating on the creation of reports reflecting relevant metrics.
* Excellent organization, interpersonal communication, and technical skills.
* Ability to successfully interact with a broad range of audiences and at all levels of the organization, from senior management to department peers, other company functions, and outside parties.
* Strong attention to detail, sense of urgency, and ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines.
* Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality with sensitive information and documentation.
Minimum Educational Level/Certifications
* Successful completion of a paralegal or legal assistant training program approved by the America Bar Association or equivalent experience.
Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications
* 5+ years of experience in a law firm, corporate or government legal department, or other similar environment.
* 5+ years of experience managing legal hold orders, subpoenas, and service of process
* 5+ years of experience with system administration of a matter management, billing, reporting system
* 5+ years of insurance reporting experience

**Benefits Summary**

**Compensation Summary**
**All Employees:** Free Club Membership, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Basic Group Live and AD&D Insurance ($10,000), and 401k Savings and Investment Plan.
**Average of 30 hours or more per week:** Medical/Dental/Vision Benefits, Paid Time Off, and Sickness Benefits (in addition to the above).
**Washington State** : Receive 40 hours of sick time on your first day of employment. After 6 months of employment, accrue 1 hour of sick time for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 120 hours, inclusive of time carried over.
Actual offer may vary from posted hiring range based on location, work experience, and/or education.
Salary range will vary based on geography of the applicant.
Pay Range for Los Angeles, Orange County and Seattle: $73,140.00-$91,425.00 (Exempt), $35.16-$43.95 (Non-Exempt)
Pay Range for Bay Area (California) & New York City (incl. New Jersey): $76,320.00-$95,400.00 (Exempt), $36.69-$45.87 (Non-Exempt)
Pay Range for San Diego & Carlsbad (California) and all other locations: $68,688.00-$85,860.00 (Exempt), $33.02-$41.28 (Non-Exempt)
