This position is part of the legal team that supports the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts’ commercial strategy lines of business including: marketing content, programming and production; communications and public affairs; marketing partnerships and promotions; event planning operations; marketing strategy; revenue management and analytics; and merchandise product development, operations, marketing and retail.
We are seeking qualified candidates for a transactional paralegal to join our team and help deliver the necessary legal services to support the commercial operations of the Resorts. This position assists in-house attorneys with all facets of various transactional deals. The ideal candidate must be able to work with the business clients to understand proposed transactions, keep track of all associated details, draft contracts and memos that fit the unique deals presented, and research and review applicable laws.
What You Will Do:
Working with business clients to determine details of the various projects and different types of transactions and prepare initial drafts of necessary legal documents (including contracts, work orders, memos, letters, etc.).Reviewing proposed revisions to legal documents to identify and analyze issues raised by the proposed changes and discuss such issues with the supervising attorney.Conducting legal and business research, often in regulatory and legislative environments.Reviewing various materials, including marketing assets, sweepstakes rules, releases, and product terms and conditions.Acting as liaison between business clients and other internal legal and administrative teams, including the intellectual property legal team.Assisting in-house attorneys with general legal work for a wide variety of business units and performing other responsibilities as delegated by attorneys.Required Qualifications & Skills:
1+ years of experience in a national or first-tier regional law firm or major in-house legal department working on transactional matters. A successful candidate likely will have significant experience with, and understanding of, contract drafting. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to effectively interact with the business clients.Strong analytical skills including the ability to identify and analyze issues and devise solutions and strategies.Strong understanding of contracts with the ability to draft contract language and integrate business issues into contracts.Detail oriented, with accurate and thorough grammatical, writing and proof-reading skills.Responsible, responsive, and hardworking attitude.Conceptual thinker with excellent judgment.Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a team-based environment and consistently meet deadlines with minimal supervision.Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.Familiarity with NetDocs, SharePoint, Box, and DocuSign is preferred.Education:
Bachelor's Degree and/or qualifications to be a paralegal by certification or education and work experience as set forth by the American Bar Association and any applicable state codes.#twdcmedia #corp_mediaThe hiring range for this position in Anaheim, CA is $71,000 to $95,100 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
