The Palliative Medicine Program at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville resides in the Department of Internal Medicine. The team consists of 5 board-certified palliative medicine physicians from multiple disciplines and departments, including Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, and Neurology. Mayo Clinic has an active inpatient palliative care consult service and outpatient clinic, serving complex, severely ill patients with a broad range of diseases.
The Palliative Medicine Program supports an ACGME-accredited fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine and there are ample opportunities for teaching residents and fellows as well as the pursuit of clinical and translational research projects. The academic practice at Mayo offers a diversity of experiences with opportunities for education, research, administration, committee membership, and clinical collaboration. Mayo Clinic excels in teamwork and interdisciplinary care, and providers have unparalleled access to subspecialty care and a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic modalities.
Qualifications
Must be MD, DO, or equivalent. Must be board certified or board eligible in Hospice/Palliative Care. Preference given to candidates who have completed a Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship. Must be able to obtain an unrestricted FL medical license.
