Position Summary:

Under direct supervision, level one painters will be trained and certified in an assortment of directly associated roles encompassing but not limited to product preparation and setup. These functions typically include paint mixing, equipment maintenance, sanding and filling operations, racking and turning parts, familiarity with process controls and documentation. Level one painters will receive classroom training and on the job experience relative to the paint department and specific to the conventional spray application of primers on a variety of aerospace product using conventional and HVLP equipment in pressure, gravity and siphon fed variants. 0-1 YOE

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Perform part preparation including sanding, cleaning, masking, and minor filling as instructedMix primers and related coatings according to established procedures and work instructionsSet up and maintain paint equipment including spray guns, hoses, regulators, and basic booth componentsAssist in racking, turning, and handling parts to ensure proper access and spray coverageSupport the application of primers under supervision using conventional and HVLP equipmentFollow process controls and complete required documentation accurately and on timeMaintain a clean and organized work area in alignment with 6S standardsLearn and follow all safety procedures including proper use of PPE and safe handling of chemicalsAssist with basic equipment cleaning and routine maintenanceParticipate in classroom and on-the-job training required for progression within the paint department Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills:

Knowledge of industry standards and requirements for aerospace component painting, preferredAbility to follow verbal and written instructions accuratelyAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.The ability to use basic painting toolsAbility to work safely with chemicals, coatings, and shop toolsStrong attention to detail and quality in all work performed.Strong communication and willingness to learn new tasks.Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Required Experience:

0-1 years of painting experience in manufacturing or a related environment preferred

Level of Education:

GED or High School diploma preferred but not required.
