Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our team in Gaborone, Botswana. As a Painter in our organization, you will be responsible for preparing and painting various surfaces to enhance and protect buildings and structures throughout the city. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent color-matching abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and applying primer as neededMix and match paint colors to meet specific requirements and maintain consistencyApply paint, stain, and other finishes to interior and exterior surfaces using brushes, rollers, and sprayersPerform touch-ups and repairs on existing painted surfacesMaintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper care of tools and equipmentAdhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipmentCollaborate with other team members and trades to complete projects efficientlyProvide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients and addressing their concernsEstimate time and material requirements for projectsStay updated on new painting techniques and products to improve efficiency and qualityQualificationsProven experience as a Painter, with a strong portfolio of completed projectsIn-depth knowledge of painting techniques, color theory, and various paint types and their applicationsExcellent attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality, consistent resultsStrong problem-solving skills to address unexpected issues that may arise during projectsPhysical stamina and ability to work at heights, bend, and stand for extended periodsProficiency in using painting tools and equipment, including sprayers, sanders, and scaffoldingExcellent time management and organizational skills to meet project deadlinesStrong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and clientsFlexibility to work on various job sites within Gaborone and adapt to changing project requirementsSafety-conscious mindset with a commitment to following proper safety proceduresHigh school diploma or equivalent (preferred)Vocational training or apprenticeship in painting (preferred)Valid driver's license and reliable transportationBasic math skills for calculating material requirements and measuring surfacesAbility to read and interpret blueprints and project specifications (a plus)Additional InformationAvani leaders try new approaches and challenge the status quo; they recognise that the hotel industry is rapidly changing and that what worked today is simply not good enough for tomorrow.
