Painter/Building Technician

What this job involves: We are seeking a skilled Painter/Building Technician for our West Greenwich location to repair, protect, and beautify various interior and exterior surfaces within our client's manufacturing facility. This position requires technical expertise in painting and minor carpentry, with the ability to adapt methods as needed for different surfaces. This is a full-time role offering competitive salary based on experience with a full benefits package.

What your day-to-day will look like: 

Apply various painting and wall covering techniques to complete projectsRemove and replace furniture, equipment, shelving, and fixtures as needed for work areasInstall and repair drywall and plaster, including applying corner beads, taping, patching, and sandingPrepare, prime, and paint building interior and exterior surfaces and perform general handyman tasks to maintain buildings.Covering trim, floors furniture, finishing and other surfaces with masking tape, drop cloths and other protective coverings to keep them free of paint.Preparing surfaces to be painted by washing them, filling holes and cracks with putty and sanding them until they’re smooth.Mixing and matching paint, stain and other finishes to job specifications.Applying paint, stain and other finishes to paint surfaces using paintbrushes/rollersInspect damaged surfaces (plaster, drywall, water damage, cracks) throughout the campusRemoving and reinstalling fixtures (e.g., doorknobs, electric switch covers) as necessary.Communicating with clients to determine their painting requirements and helping them make the best decisions for their projects.Use tools and equipment safely while maintaining a secure work environmentReviewing and implementing work orders and assignments.Utilizes CMMS systems (e.g., Maximo) for all work performedPerform additional duties as assigned, aligned with client hoursPerforms preventive maintenance and repair work orders, primarily drywall repair and paintingMaintains and repairs building equipment as directed by operations teamOrganizes, moves and repairs office furniture, machinery, and equipment as requested and event-related items for special events; including setup and removal

Required Qualifications:  

High school diploma or equivalent.2+ years of experience with interior and exterior paintingExcellent communication skills, both oral and written.Valid driver's licenseAbility to hang and finish drywall and plasterBasic computer skillsCarpentry backgroundAbility to stand and walk for extended periodsPerform overhead work while standing on laddersNavigate confined spaces (closets, crawl spaces)Bend, kneel, twist, and reach in difficult access areasRegularly lift/carry up to 10 pounds; frequently up to 25 pounds; occasionally up to 35 pounds

Location: West Greenwich, RI

Shift: Initial training shift is 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Monday – Friday; Shift is Wednesday-Saturday 7am-5pm (4 day work week) When training is complete.

Estimated compensation for this position:

60,000.00 – 70,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
