Responsibilities:
Oversee daily operations of the paint and body shop, including scheduling, workflow, and technician supervision

Lead and manage a team of body technicians, painters, and helpers, ensuring high-quality repairs and refinishing work

Inspect completed jobs to ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and customer expectations

Coordinate with other departments (e.g., parts, production, and service teams) to ensure timely project completion

Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for bodywork, sanding, painting, curing, and detailing

Monitor inventory levels of materials, paint, tools, and supplies; coordinate reordering as needed

Provide training, coaching, and performance evaluations for shop personnel

Enforce workplace safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment

Maintain accurate records of work orders, time tracking, materials used, and repairs performed

Communicate with management and clients regarding job status, estimates, and timelines

Stay current with paint and body repair techniques, tools, and safety standards

Assist in budgeting and cost control for labor and materials

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Non-degreed: 8 years experience in a similar role

Qualifications:
Technical Knowledge of Bodywork & Painting: Strong understanding of body repair techniques, surface preparation, masking, priming, color matching, and paint application for vehicles or heavy equipment.

Leadership & Team Management: Ability to lead, motivate, and supervise a team of painters, body technicians, and shop assistants.

Time Management & Scheduling: Skilled at managing job schedules, coordinating workflow, and meeting production deadlines.

Quality Control: Keen attention to detail to inspect and ensure all work meets safety standards and company quality benchmarks.

Safety Compliance: Knowledge of OSHA regulations, PPE usage, and safe handling of chemicals and equipment used in painting and refinishing.

Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and resolve repair issues efficiently and accurately.

Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff, upper management, and customers.

Inventory & Supply Management: Ability to track and manage supplies, order materials, and maintain inventory records.
