Airswift has been tasked by one of our clients to find a Paint and Fiberglass Technician to join their team on a 1-year contract in East River, NS.
Role and Responsibilities
To assist the shipyard service operations by contributing to the productivity of the service team. Working under the management team, looking for a skilled and detail-oriented paint and fiberglass technician. Contribute to completing the jobs on time, working to the best of their ability, and using time and equipment effectively. The goal is a high-quality product under efficient timelines.
Perform repairs on fiberglass surfaces, including sanding, grinding, filling, and gel coat application Mix and apply paint to all vessel surfaces by brush, roller, and/or spray Match and blend paint colours for an exceptional finish Inspect and review work for quality and accuracy Maintain a clean and organized work area Maintain all tools and equipment Follow all safety and environmental procedures Collaborate with other team members to meet production goals Assist on other projects/jobs as required within the yardQualifications and Education Requirements
Minimum high school diplomaPreferred Skills
2+ years experience in paint application and fiberglass repair Knowledge of materials including resin, epoxy, and gel coats Ability to use air tools, sprayers, and grinders Ability to perform under pressure Efficient time management Ability to adhere to deadlines and time constraints Knowledge of marine service and operations #LI-GV1
