Job Title: Packaging Technician

Job Description

This position is responsible for the proper assembly, labeling, and quality of clinical supplies following the batch paperwork. The temporary packaging technician is required to follow all applicable standard operating procedures and supervisory instructions to ensure compliance with customer specifications and GMPs. This position is for employees who are capable of performing most phases of clinical packaging but still require supervision in some areas.

ResponsibilitiesReview batch paperwork and instructions to understand and perform packaging procedures required for the assembly of each clinical study.Clean packaging rooms and machinery as needed (clean room environment).Perform manual and automated filling and packaging of blistered and bottled pharmaceutical products independently, approving labeling and checking the quality of the process.Perform and ensure proper labeling and drug placement using various secondary sealing machinery.Accept or reject in-process clinical supplies according to acceptability standards determined by GMP, customer requirements, and SOP.Label and assemble both blinded (following a randomization schedule) and open clinical supplies, ensuring proper label placement.Accurately count out and prepare packages (pill bottles, syringe packs) to ensure proper packaging.Perform final check of work in-process and finished products, then pack goods into appropriately labeled containers/boxes.Assist in staging and reconciliation of components as needed.Essential SkillsHigh School Diploma or GEDAttention to detail, as quality mistakes can be critical.Willingness and ability to work in a cold room as needed (all PPE provided).Willingness and ability to work mandatory overtime as needed.Additional Skills & QualificationsManufacturing or production experience, or at least warehouse experience.Pharmaceutical or packaging experience is preferred.Experience in fast food or retail with proven tenure at roles.Experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment is ideal.

Available Shift1st Shift - 6:30 AM - 3:15 PM (Monday-Friday) /$17.502nd Shift - 2:45 PM -1:30 AM (Monday-Thursday)/$19.252nd shift will train on 1st shift for a few weeks at $17.50

Work Environment

This role will be in the pharmaceutical packaging department,a clean room environment. Candidates are required to wear full gown, shoe covers, hairnet, beard net, and safety glasses at all times. All PPE is provided except safety shoes and prescription safety glasses. This position requires some time in a cold room environment (35-46 F), with appropriate cold weather PPE provided. Overtime is not currently mandatory but may be required based on production needs.

This is a position is located in Downtown Indianapolis, IN near Lucas Oil Stadium.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $19.25/hr.
