Our Team
Our Explosive Ordnance Systems team enables the Australian Defence Force through storage, distribution, maintenance and disposal of these systems, all across Australia. As a turnkey solution, we offer the opportunity to gain a holistic understanding of our business operations, creating huge opportunities for growth.
 

Your Role

This exciting role exists to develop and deliver packaging solutions for energetics materials which meet the requirements for local, national and international transport of goods, writing internal quality, safety and engineering governance processes, and driving the industrialisation of packaging solutions at an operational level.

Additionally, this role will provide varying degree of technical support to a number of internal customers right from the bidding/quotation stage through to development, procurement, manufacturing and delivery/logistics.

Lead or contribute to the resolution of packaging quality issues and actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives

Collaborate effectively with teams, work groups, and individuals beyond formal reporting lines to achieve organisational objectives

Demonstrate respect for the needs and contributions of others in all actions and decisions

Maintain a broad perspective by focusing on overarching goals, prioritizing major objectives over isolated issues in day-to-day operations

Define and execute long-term plans and strategies to achieve personal and organisational goals

Writing technical and supporting documents for packaging solutions, and compiling safety case documentation for submission to the relevant Design Authority
 

Your Experience

On day one in this role, we'll expect you to bring the following skills, experience and behaviours: 

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, chemical or equivalent), technical or trade qualifications in a manufacturing environment

Basic knowledge and understanding of product design and industrialised manufacturing processes

Proven ability to deliver task outcomes that meet safely, quality, cost and schedule requirements

Proven ability to write technical reports and documents

Competence in risk assessments, attention to detail, and adherence to regulatory requirements

Experience with or training in Dangerous Goods Codes (ADG, IMDG, IATA) - desirable

Basic knowledge or experience in explosives and hazardous materials handling - desirable

Experience in packaging design, materials and testing – desirable

Experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent – desirable

Proficiency in CAD software (example Autodesk Inventor) for designing - desirable

Supplier management experience - desirable

Quality management experience - desirable

Configuration management experience - desirable
 

Good to Know

Prior to being offered employment, you will need to complete pre-employment police and (role dependent) medical checks. A Defence security clearance is required for this role; applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance.

In some cases, individuals who hold a current clearance from a foreign government may be eligible to have this clearance recognised by the Australian Government and be eligible for this role.

The U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
