Job Title: Packaging Mechanic I
Type: T-P (Temp-to-Perm)
Shift: 2nd Shift | Mon–Thurs, 3:00 PM – 1:00 AM
Location: Monmouth Junction, NJ
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years of pharmaceutical/Biotech packaging mechanic experience Strong electrical background Hands-on experience with fillers, cappers, labelers, cartoners, bundlers, shrink wrappers, etc. Must pass pre-employment and physical High school/GEDProficient in manufacturing procedures, FDA regulations, cGMPs, SOPs
Ability to read/interpreting safety, maintenance, and procedure manuals
Basic PC skills
Willingness to work overtime as needed
Overview:
The Packaging Mechanic I supports the Packaging Department by maintaining and repairing packaging equipment. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, line changeovers/startups, equipment upgrades, and root cause analysis to ensure compliance with SOPs, cGMPs, and FDA requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on packaging equipment (fillers, cappers, labelers, cartoners, bundlers, shrink wrappers, etc.)
Conduct preventive maintenance, repairs, and continuous improvement activities
Execute line changeovers and startups
Support QA and Operations during packaging runs
Ensure safe equipment operation at all times
Preferred:
Trade school or technical certification
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Stand for extended periods
Use of PPE as required
