Job Overview
This role reports to the Product Packaging Manager. You will be responsible for completing a defined project: conducting a life cycle analysis of the various packaging materials we purchase. Your work will update our database, provide insights into greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and help identify potential alternative packaging materials.
The role will be active across Packaging and operations.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Collaborate with the Packaging Manager and Packaging Sustainability Engineer to gain a thorough understanding of the various packaging materials currently in use.Conduct life cycle assessments (LCAs) of packaging materials, following the methodologies established by the Product Stewardship team.Perform desktop research to analyse the emissions associated with different material types used in secondary and tertiary packaging.Work closely with team members to expand data collection and processing efforts, actively investigating packaging operations to enhance the materials database.Develop and administer a survey of secondary and tertiary packaging materials to identify and recommend more sustainable alternatives.Support the Packaging Sustainability Engineer in creating and documenting the Packaging Sustainability Road Map.Present your findings and recommendations to the Packaging Leadership Team.Skills and Competences
Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and concisely.Flexible, adaptable, and skilled in lateral thinking.Strong organizational and prioritization abilities, with proven multi-tasking skills.Capable of identifying, analysing, and planning effective actions to engage, communicate, negotiate, and influence stakeholders.Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.Currently pursuing or holding a STEM qualification at a minimum of bachelor’s degree level.
