**What You'll Do...**
+ **Packaging Strategy & Development:**
+ Lead the design, development, and implementation of innovative packaging solutions for new product launches (BOBM) and existing production parts.
+ Validate packaging materials and designs through rigorous testing and trial shipments, including ocean trials.
+ Develop and implement comprehensive packaging guidelines to support global export requirements, material handling systems (e.g., ASRS, conveyors), and optimal stockpiling.
+ Manage the entire packaging lifecycle, encompassing material selection, obsolescence processes, and responsible disposition.
+ **Supplier Management & Optimization:**
+ Identify, qualify, and manage expendable and returnable packaging suppliers, ensuring high standards of quality and performance.
+ Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to reduce packaging costs, enhance material efficiency, and explore reuse opportunities.
+ Conduct on-site packaging audits of commodity, die, and equipment suppliers to ensure adherence to specifications.
+ **Process & Data Management:**
+ Maintain and update critical packaging specifications and documentation, including PFEP files and internal desk procedures.
+ Ensure data integrity within ERP systems (e.g., SAP) for all packaging-related information.
+ Generate and analyze MP&L packaging performance reports (e.g., SQDCPME scorecards) to identify trends, support cost reduction roadmaps, and inform strategic decision-making.
+ Contribute to the development and enhancement of information and process systems to improve operational efficiency.
+ **Compliance & Collaboration:**
+ Ensure all packaging operations and materials comply with global export guidelines, internal manufacturing specifications, and external regulatory/quality standards (e.g., ISO14001, Hazmat, QS9000, SOX).
+ Support and participate in internal and external audits, including VCA, FPS, and cycle verification programs.
+ Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, Purchasing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to align packaging solutions with business objectives and manufacturing processes.
+ Facilitate clear and timely communication with internal stakeholders and external logistics providers regarding critical MP&L issues and coordination needs.
+ **Operational Excellence:**
+ Prioritize work on key issues and allocate resources effectively to ensure successful project execution and operational efficiency.
+ Demonstrate flexibility to support dynamic production demands, including varied shifts and weekend work as required.
**You'll have...**
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or equivalent
· At least 3 years’ experience in production supplier packaging management in large enterprises (materials, electronics, automotive and other industries).
· Proficient in using Microsoft Suite
· Experienced in root cause analysis, and lean manufacturing principles

· Familiar with the operational processes of a manufacturing enterprise warehouse, and the ability quality management, process optimization, and overall organization.
· Proficient in ERP software such as SAP, Office software, and excellent document writing ability.

This role may start remote and then will be working hybrid out of Marshall, MI, with the expectation to be on-site at Marshall once building construction and timing are established (relocation package available).

You will continue to be employed by Ford Motor Company but work at BlueOval Battery Michigan, Ford’s wholly owned subsidiary located in Marshall, Michigan. You will remain an at-will employee at all times during your employment with Ford or any Ford affiliate or subsidiary with which you later become employed.
