W.T. Byler, a Quanta Services Company, is looking for an experienced P6 Planner with a Heavy Civil background to join our team in the Houston, TX area.
Initially, this position would be on a project in Cameron, LA but this position would need to be able to travel.
As a Primavera P6 Planner you own the Critical Path Method (CPM) schedule—building the baseline, keeping it current, and turning raw field data into clear insight so crews and stakeholders can act decisively. The majority of your time is spent in the trailer/office working in P6; the balance is spent walking the jobsite to verify progress and constraints.
What You'll Do Plan & Baseline Translate estimates and drawings into a logic-linked CPM schedule in Primavera P6Load labor, equipment, and cost resources for earned-value trackingFacilitate pull-planning sessions with superintendents and subcontractorsExecution & UpdatesCollect daily quantities; update actuals, % complete, and remaining durationsIssue three-week look-ahead reports and annotated Gantt chartsMonitor float, critical path shifts, and resource histograms; flag variances earlyAnalysis & ControlsRun “what-if” scenarios and recovery schedulesConduct time-impact analyses (TIAs) for change eventsIntegrate schedule data with cost reports and produce S-curves, dashboardsClose-OutCompile the as-built schedule and delay narrativeArchive calendars, coding structures, and backups per company standards What You'll Bring Minimum of a High-school diploma required Primavera P6, Construction Management or Project Controls coursework/certification preferredMinimum of 3+ years of scheduling heavy-civil, rail, or industrial projectsStrong Primavera P6 skills (layouts, global change, resource/cost loading), CPM theory, MS ExcelFacilitates meetings, communicates schedule impacts to all levelsOSHA 30 & TWIC (or ability to obtain); able to traverse large outdoor sites in Gulf Coast climate What You'll GetAs a Quanta Services employee, you'll be offered a wide range of benefits to fit your needs.
