P&C Substation Commissioning Manager

Airswift is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented P&C Substation Commissioning Manager for a long-term contract with a leading company in the renewable energy industry supporting projects across the U.S.
Work on behalf of the project Owner as a Commissioning Manager on a portfolio of renewable energy (wind, solar, battery storage). This position is responsible for execution of assigned renewable power plant projects and teams as it relates to commissioning, start up and operational turnover.
Location: Must be able to work across the U.S. Most projects are based in Oklahoma and Texas, but assignments may be located throughout the country.
Key Responsibilities: Responsible for ensuring commissioning activities for assigned projects are performed with high quality and adhering to all companies' safety policies. Responsible for coordination and management of, EPC contractor personnel, OEM start up personnel, third party start up contractors, and operations personnel on site, as it relates to site commissioning and startup. Responsible for project reliability at operational turnover with plants exhibiting as little lost time as necessary in initial operation. Responsible for compliance with all projects contractual documents to include Power Purchase Agreement and Large Generator Interconnect Agreement deliverables with local utility. Ensure proper interface is made with Transmission Operators and Independent Service Operators to ensure project energization dates are achieved. Management of Client’s onsite commissioning personnel. Interfaces with project's designated safety, engineering, and quality control parties. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications: 3+ years of PnC/Substation commissioning experience. 3+ years relay testing preferably as a Relay Tech or Relay Engineer. Protection and Controls implementation and troubleshooting experience. Proven track record and ability to interact with engineering personnel on highly technical issues, and then also interact with construction personnel on constructability, schedule, and cost issues as well. Engineering Degree is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring and/or tape. Prolonged periods of standing with intermittent kneeling or bending. Must be physically capable of walking on the jobsite on varied, uneven terrain and/or varied temperatures and weather elements. Ability to operate a motor vehicle for purposes of commuting between 2 working locations. Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds at a time.
