PC Business Partner - Day to Day PC HR Strategy
UGL’s Rail Technology Systems business delivers rail infrastructure, communications, and control systems across major and minor projects nationwide. With a mix of civil, signaling, train control, and maintenance work and a strong focus on transitioning workers between projects, RTS plays a key role in keeping Australia’s rail networks running safely and efficiently.
About the role
Due to a recent promotion, we’re looking for a PC Business Partner to support the RTS business. The role reports to the RTS PC Manager and is a full-time permanent role, based out of our North Sydney or Melbourne office.
In this role you’ll be the go-to person for day-to-day PC admin and employee support, while also getting involved in strategic work such as workforce planning, performance management, and supporting leadership capability. It’s a varied role with plenty of scope to build relationships across the business and make a real impact.

Key responsibilities
Support the business with everyday PC admin tasks to include changes to work conditions, advising on parental leave, coaching managers on challenging conversations, ER matters, and processing promotions or other approvals.
Advise and coach managers on PC policies, performance management, appraisals, and everyday people issues.
Assist with workforce planning, employee engagement initiatives, and delivery of end-of-year appraisals.
Manage redeployment and redundancy processes during project demobilisation.
Travel to Sydney, Melbourne, or Perth to connect with operations leaders.
About you
Experience in a similar PC/HR role with some experience of a blue-collar workforce.
Confident communicator with great relationship-building and coaching skills.
Comfortable juggling admin and strategic tasks, and happy to travel interstate.
A team player who’s organised, adaptable, and ready to jump into whatever comes their way.
