Owner’s Engineering – Lead Consultant
Our Energy Solutions team serves a varied client base, including large energy users, independent power producers, energy developers, and utilities, providing full life cycle services from advisory, program management, through engineering design and EPCM services. Applications range from micro-grids / distributed energy resources through utility scale installations collocated with commercial and industrial customers, such as data centers. We embrace a wide variety of energy and decarbonization technologies including solar, geothermal, wind, short (BESS) and long-duration storage, low carbon fuels, thermal generation, and nuclear and develop actionable sustainable power solutions for both internal and external facing clients This role is to take a lead role in the growth of this portfolio of work, with particular emphasis on developing energy solution sets to serve large data center clients. You will nurture clients through planning and feasibility phases and take a lead role in the execution of projects as they mature through the design process and into owner’s engineer and EPCM roles. The role will initially focus on leading advisory services relating to the execution of power generation projects, advising on risk, schedule, costs and procurement, providing practical experience and insights around structuring projects for success. The role will also support the stand-up of dedicated resources, workflows and processes to build a platform for future growth. The role will support business development, client interactions, proposal development and project execution. Location: Remote, Pacific Time Zone preferred #epjobs #naepjobs Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications: * Minimum bachelor’s degree in engineering, with ten years’ post-graduate professional experience, in utility scale power development. * Solid knowledge of the power sector, its key stakeholders and regulatory environment, and well-established network of contacts with industry stakeholders, developers, off-takers, government representatives and financial stakeholders in the renewable energy industry. * Broad understanding of energy technologies and their respective applicability to project solutions and able to translate client goals in to planning and feasibility studies. * Experienced in advancing projects through the planning and feasibility study stage in to engineering design, estimation, scheduling, procurement, energy contracts, and oversight of contractors. * Commercially aware, with an understanding of the technical consequences of a business decision as well as the business consequences of a technical decision. * Previous consulting engineering experience required. * Good communication skills and interest in engaging with clients to grow relationships. * Excellent interpersonal skills to interface with internal and external stakeholders * Experienced in building and leading teams of multidisciplinary subject matter experts * Experience in continuous improvement in work product, organization structure, and ongoing operations.
