Compensation : $ 34 - 38 / hr

Overnight and Weekend Shift Differential: +$3/hr between the hours of 7pm-7am, and 24 hours on Saturday and Sunday

Compensation negotiable depending on experience, credentials and education.

Essential Job Functions

As a Veterinary Technician Supervisor, you will be a critical leader within our hospital, responsible for overseeing the performance, professionalism, and productivity of our overnight veterinary technician and client services team. Your role will include setting ensuring the top level of care is provided to patients and clients, promoting accountability, fostering a proactive culture, and ensuring consistent team productivity. You will guide and support the team while modeling the high standards of excellence. As a supervisor, you are expected to have the ability and possess the knowledge of the following: ​

Set Clear Expectations:
Communicate duties, clinical protocols, and behavioral standards to all team members to ensure clarity and alignment with clinic goals.

Promote Accountability:
Ensure team members take ownership of their responsibilities, follow through on tasks, and address performance issues promptly. Provide constructive feedback and enforce standards consistently.

Encourage Proactiveness:
Create a culture where team members actively seek opportunities to contribute, anticipate the needs of the clinic, veterinarians, and patients, and address tasks without waiting to be directed.

Ensure Team Productivity:
Hold team members accountable for staying engaged and productive throughout their shifts, ensuring tasks such as patient care, cleaning, stocking, and assisting colleagues are completed during downtime.

Provide Guidance and Feedback:
Offer ongoing coaching, support, and feedback to help team members grow in their roles, while addressing underperformance or concerns promptly and effectively.

Lead by Example:
Demonstrate professionalism, initiative, and a strong work ethic to model the standards expected from the team.

Education and Experience:

Required: Registered Veterinary Technician Certification (California)

Required: 2+ years of experience in leading a medical team

Preferred: Veterinary Technician Specialist Certification or Equivalent experience
