**Job Title: Overlay Assembly (Carpenter)** **Job Description** This role utilizes advanced carpentry skills to create aesthetic effects for specialty and custom ordered garage doors. **Responsibilities** + Perform advanced carpentry tasks such as framing, window installation, and trim work. + Ensure safety for all in the work area while performing duties safely and efficiently. + Produce high-quality products, including required quality checks and reporting. + Identify sections used in building custom design garage doors. + Set up and use routers and saws, including performing minor equipment adjustments to produce quality products. + Read and implement blueprints and cut sheets fluently. + Use advanced measurement skills and tools like calipers to identify part specifications and gauge tolerances. + Function in all areas of the department to assist proper workflow and timely completion of products. + Complete required production documents and end-of-shift paperwork accurately and timely, including inventory transaction reports and completed work order reports. + Operate Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems such as Navigator and pass training courses. + Sort work benches to release labels in the correct order. + Run in batch, priority sequence, and manufacture according to the bill of materials, following production run sequence from the workbench or as directed by leadership. + Ensure inventory accuracy of parts and sections consumed in the production process, recording and entering inventory transactions timely. + Set the pace of the production line and ensure daily production efficiency, identifying and communicating barriers to leadership. + Communicate effectively with all levels of leadership. + Maintain a clean work area and ensure tools are in good working order. + Perform all duties as assigned by leadership. **Essential Skills** + Advanced carpentry skills including framing, window installation, and trim work. + Proficiency in reading blueprints and cut sheets. + Advanced measurement skills, including using tools like calipers. + Intermediate computer skills, including knowledge of Excel and ERP systems. + Understanding of inventory control practices. + Carpentry-level mathematical skills. + Mastery level measurement skills in line with trim or cabinetry carpentry. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems such as Navigator. + Physical ability to move about the manufacturing floor safely and efficiently. + Capability to lift 45 lbs. unassisted and frequently handle weights up to 80 lbs. with team assistance. + Ability to stand or walk for extended periods (8-12 hours daily). + Capacity to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination with hand/power tools. + Experience working in loud, fast-paced industrial environments. + Ability to work in varying temperature conditions. **Why Work Here?** Join a dynamic work environment where your advanced carpentry skills will be valued and developed. You will work in both hot and cold conditions, with the use of computers and ERP systems as part of daily operations. **Job Type & Location** This is a Permanent position based out of Lawrence, KS. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $42120.00 - $42120.00/yr.
