Summary Job title: Outside Sales Job ID: 202582990002 Department: Stockton - CED Location: CA-Stockton Description Summary: CED Stockton is seeking a motivated Outside Salesperson to grow and maintain our customer base in the Central Valley market. The primary focus will be adding new contractor, commercial, and industrial accounts that we do not currently serve , while also strengthening and expanding relationships with our existing customers. This role is all about being in front of customers, uncovering opportunities, and positioning CED Stockton as the trusted partner for all electrical supply needs. Reports to: Profit Center Manager Minimum Qualifications: + Strong working knowledge of electrical products and applications (distribution equipment, lighting, wire/cable, conduit, controls, gear, etc.). + Minimum 3 years sales experience, preferably in electrical distribution, contracting, or a related construction industry. + Demonstrated ability to open new accounts and grow existing ones . + Ability to travel throughout the Stockton/Lodi/Tracy region for face-to-face customer visits. + Strong communication and relationship-building skills. + Valid driver’s license with a driving record meeting CED standards. + Proficiency with basic math including margins, discounts, and multipliers. Preferred Qualifications: + Established relationships in the Stockton/Lodi/Tracy construction or industrial market. + Experience balancing account acquisition with long-term account maintenance and growth. + Familiarity with major electrical contractors, developers, and industrial customers in the area. Working Conditions: Conditions vary based on the customer location and may include construction, warehouse, manufacturing, office, or external environments. Some activities may include walking, standing, climbing in various conditions including extreme heat or cold. Essential functions will require travel to customer locations. Supervisory Responsibilities: No Essential Job Functions: + Add new accounts : Prospect, cold-call, and develop business with contractors, commercial accounts, and industrial customers not currently served by CED Stockton. + Maintain and grow existing accounts : Strengthen customer relationships, increase share of wallet, and deliver ongoing value. + Research the local market, identify opportunities, and create account development plans. + Understand customer operations, applications, and job requirements in order to provide effective product and solution recommendations. + Work closely with inside sales, quotations, and management to ensure customers receive exceptional support and service. + Represent CED Stockton with professionalism, urgency, and a solutions-oriented approach.
