Outside Machinist (2nd Shift)

As an Outside Machinist, you will: + Perform a variety of skilled mechanical duties involving deck machinery, engine room work, general dock, rudders, shafting, propeller work, and testing + Use knowledge of equipment operation for assembly, installation and testing + Perform valve and pump repair and overhaul + Repair ship components using blueprints, sketches and sample parts + Work with rudders, shafts, propellers and deck machinery + Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on facility machinery + Able to wear appropriate protective equipment, including respirator. + Able to physically perform essential job duties with or without accommodations. + Able to work at heights, in confined spaces and have the ability to climb staircases and ladders of varying sizes and grades. + Able to carry personal tool bag weighing up to 50 lbs. **Required Education, Experience, & Skills** + High School Diploma or GED + Read, write and comprehend simple instructions + Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form + Able to calculate and understand units of measure, including fractions and decimals + Know how to measure using a scale and tape measure + Read, understand, and interpret advanced blueprints to preform task required + Use of measuring devices (rulers, micrometers, dial indicators, depth mics, scales, etc.), hand tools, and power tools + Ability to read and interpret blueprints + Able to wear appropriate protective gear + Able to physically perform essential job duties with or without accommodations + Able to work at heights, in confined spaces and have the ability to climb staircases and ladders of varying sizes + Trained in all annual NAVSEA Standard Items + Able to obtain DBIDS credential/Government clearance to enter US Navy Vessels. **Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills** **Pay Information** Full-Time Salary Range: $57720 - $88483 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
