Outreach Specialist

Veterans Inc. is seeking an Outreach Specialist who will be a key member of the Veterans Inc. team, focusing on expanding our reach within the state of Massachusetts. The Outreach Specialist will assist veteran program participants in the community with the coordination of services, including but not limited to employment, training, housing, benefits, and referral resources.\n

WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DAY TO DAY:\n\nProvides outreach services, including eligibility determinations, needs assessments, and assistance, as well as skills enhancement training and transition planning, to program participants through individual contact in open settings and outreach sites.\nDevelops and maintains outreach sites, including a referral network and outreach linkages with relevant resources.\nDemonstrates availability and visibility within the agency and referral network during business hours.\nDemonstrates a professional and supportive relationship with participants, families, and significant others as needed, to assist clients with service needs and attain the highest level of independent functionality.\nAssist with supporting our new HRSN services (such as nutrition assistance and housing support) with the current CSP-HI program and other services offered by Veterans Inc.\nIt's crucial for the Outreach Specialist to collaborate with other departments. \nThe Outreach Specialist will need to work with external partners or vendors to manage any required resources or services necessary for the success of the program. This is a key aspect of the role.\nAttends and participates in all meetings as required.\nPerforms special projects and other duties as assigned.\n\n

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:\n\nBachelor's degree in Social Services, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required.\nMinimum of two years experience in community engagement and outreach required.\nKnowledge of behavioral health services and resources is highly desirable.\nAbility to engage effectively with diverse groups, including staff, community stakeholders, and funding agencies.\nMust be able to pass a CORI and background investigation.\nCompliance with Veterans Inc. COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. Religious and Medical Exemptions are considered.\n\n
