As an Outpatient Social Worker for the M Power Program, you will play a pioneering role in providing compassionate care and counseling to postpartum patients coping with birth trauma, neonatal loss and related challenges. Partnering closely with Cleveland Clinic’s Women’s Behavioral Health team, you will support patient intakes, referrals and individualized therapeutic interventions that promote healing and emotional well-being. As the first social worker in this growing program, you will help shape the foundation of comprehensive postpartum mental health services, offering empathetic, evidence-based care that empowers patients on their path to recovery.

A caregiver in this role will work days, 40 hours per week. Schedules will eventually become hybrid with 3 days in office and 2 days from home.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

Utilize specialized clinical knowledge and advanced clinical skills in psychotherapy, clinical counseling, diagnostic interviews, assessments and treatment plans to patients. Provide individual, group, family and crisis counseling.  Utilize a clinical focus across the mental health spectrum, from anxiety and depression to bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.  Participate in the development and implementation of assessments based on interdisciplinary treatment plans.  Consult with team members, statutory/voluntary agencies and relatives to ensure compliance with the patient treatment plan.  Act as a liaison between patients, families, community support workers and facilities to obtain information and facilitate discharge planning.  Educate and provide resources to patients and families.  Supervise and/or train lower-level social workers, students or interns.  Process paperwork and complete clinical documentation.  

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling or a related field Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Social Worker (LSW) with no record of substantiated ethics or patient abuse reports Three years of experience in a behavioral health setting Comprehensive knowledge of current psychotherapeutic techniques, theories and practices sufficient to evaluate, diagnose and counsel patients

Physical Requirements:

A high degree of manual dexterity to produce materials on PC; normal or corrected vision; extensive sitting and frequent walking; occasional lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds.
