The Outpatient Pharmacist – NEO Float provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care while serving as a float pharmacist across Cleveland Clinic outpatient pharmacies throughout Northeast Ohio, with a primary home location at the Twinsburg Family Health Center Pharmacy. This role supports a variety of ambulatory and retail pharmacy settings, including Main Campus, Family Health Centers, and regional community pharmacies, offering exposure to diverse patient populations and pharmacy workflows. Responsibilities include verifying and dispensing prescriptions, performing clinical medication reviews, counseling patients, administering immunizations, managing inventory, and resolving medication access and insurance-related concerns. The pharmacist collaborates closely with physicians, nurses, and care teams to optimize medication therapy, support safe transitions of care, and ensure exceptional patient service while adapting to the operational needs of multiple pharmacy locations. This role also maintains compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations and contributes to efficient, patient-centered pharmacy operations across the enterprise.

A caregiver in this position will work primarily from the Twinsburg Family Health Center Pharmacy while providing float coverage at outpatient pharmacy locations throughout Northeast Ohio based on operational needs. Shifts are typically 8 hours and scheduled between 7:00am and 8:00pm, with schedules generally available six weeks in advance. Float assignments commonly provide week-long coverage for vacations, PTO, and staffing needs. Weekend and holiday requirements vary by location, with the Euclid Avenue Pharmacy averaging approximately eight weekend shifts per year and one holiday every four years on a rotating basis. No on-call responsibilities are required.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

Provide pharmacy services and ensure the appropriate selection, dosing, administration and dispensing of medication orders.  Provide safe, efficient, patient-centered, evidence-based medication services. Verify medication orders and/or dispense medications accurately according to state and federal regulations. Contribute to medication safety initiatives.  Document services in a complete, accurate and timely manner. Ensure all pharmacy operations comply with national accreditation standards. Maintain professional interactions with patients to facilitate successful patient experiences. Educate and train students, residents, other caregivers, and/or patients.  Be accountable for drug use policy adherence.  

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

PharmD or Bachelor’s of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible in current state within 90 days of hire Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) and completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations within 90 days of hire for those administering immunizations 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

Completion of a post-graduate year 1 residency (PGY1), fellowship or relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience preferred.Post-graduate year 2 residency (PGY2) or relevant experience preferred for Clinical Pharmacists hired in a Specialized Pharmacy practice areaBoard Certification 

Physical Requirements:

Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing and walking for prolonged times, approximately 75% of shift and continuously for extended periods of time. Manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer and dispensing functions of the job; ability to lift up to 20 lbs.Position often includes reaching, stretching, stooping, climbing steps and sitting.Must have normal or corrected vision.Must have ability to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person
