**Job Summary and Responsibilities**
The **Outpatient Infusion Scheduler** is responsible for coordinating and scheduling patient infusion appointments in a fast paced clinical environment. This role serves as a key liaison between providers, nursing staff, pharmacy and patients to ensure timely, accurate and efficient access to infusion services while maintaining compliance with provider orders, insurance requirements, and clinical protocols. This role is also a dual function role serving as registrar when needed. The outpatient infusion registrar is responsible for coordinating infusion appointments and completing patient registration processes.
Receive, review and process infusion referrals and provider orders for accuracy and completeness.
Schedule infusion appointments based on clinical urgency, treatment protocols, staffing availability and chair capacity.
Coordinate with nursing, pharmacy, and clinical leadership to optimize patient flow and infusion scheduling.
Communicate appointment details clearly to patients, including preparation instructions and arrival times.
Verify required documentation prior to scheduling including orders, authorizations and supporting clinical information.
Identify missing or incomplete information and proactively follow up with provider offices.
Reschedule or adjust appointments as needed due to cancellations, treatment changes or staffing considerations.
**Job Requirements**
High School Diploma or GED required. Associate's Degree or completion of a Medical Office Administration program preferred.
Prefer one to two years of hospital (medical field) experience with knowledge of medical terminology
Preferably has experience in procedures; along with clerical experience and demonstrated computer skills.
Ability to speak concisely and clearly and communicate effectively with the public and co-workers.
Preferred
Experience in outpatient infusion, oncology, or speciality clinic scheduling. Familiarity with insurance authorization processes. Understanding of infusion therapies and treatment protocols.
Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams upon hire

**Pay Range**
$15.67 - $22.14 /hour
