Job Description

We’re looking for enthusiastic, ambitious, guest-oriented individuals to join the service team at Omni San Diego.  A server plays a vital role in the service of a restaurant by interacting with our guests in a genuine and friendly way, from taking orders to presenting accurate checks.  If you are an individual who wants to thrive in the Food and Beverage industry by interacting with and serving our guests in a dynamic evironment, the Server position may be the perfect position for you!

Responsibilities     Greet all guest with enthusiasm and friendliness    Acknowledge and greet all guests, anticipate guest needs, and respond to guest inquiries or requests    Effectively merchandises food and beverage menus in an informative manner, friendly and enthusiastic manner    Communicates with food and beverage staff to ensure guest satisfaction    Clean and resetting of dirty tables according to standards    Cleaning and polishing of water glasses and silverware    Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas    Prepares work area for either opening or closing in accordance with company standards    Ensure furniture and floors are kept clean and arranged    Attends staff meetings to receive information and direction    Contributes to a professional workplace that maximizes employee moral, productivity and effectiveness. Works well with a diverse FOH and BOH staff    Performs additional responsibilities although not detailed, as requested by a manager    Insures responsible service of alcohol by following all legal requirements including carding and consumption    Accurately takes food and beverage orders from guests and promptly records all transactions in the Micros system. Maintains guest tabs and facilitates payment following procedures    Serves food and beverage to guests following company steps of service and adheres to service times    Follows daily checklists and side work. Set-ups, stocks and breakdown of service and dining room following procedures. Completes all assigned cleaning duties. Complies with direction and instruction from the management team. Qualifications Must be able to attain a valid San Diego County Food Handler & Responsible Beverage Service certification upon hire if not already certified.Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends and holidays.Must have guest service experience, preferably in an upscale setting.Food and Beverage serving experience preferred.Hotel experience preferred.Must be able to multi-task in a busy environment, follow through on guest requests, ensure guest satisfaction, and work as a team player.Must be able to lift 25 lbs. and stand for extended periods of time.Commitment to quality service, and food and beverage knowledgeMust have strong communication skillsMust be able to work under moderate supervisionMaintains a clean and professional image at all timesMust be 18 or older (position requires the delivery of alcohol to guests).

*Pay: $17.25/hour The pay scale provided is a range that Omni Hotels & Resorts reasonably expects to pay. Actual compensation offered may fluctuate based on a candidate’s qualifications and/or experience.
