Summary/Objective: Ensures outgoing shipments are accurately and completely filled, verifying shipments against orders, invoices, or bills of lading. Schedules shipments to meet delivery commitments and oversees staging and shipping of outbound products. Communicates effectively with transportation vendors to maximize efficiency and reduce costs. Ensures that all Distribution Center activities comply with internal and external guidelines and regulations, including those governing employee health and safety. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Assigning workloads and daily tasks to Warehouse Supervisors and Leads 2. Oversee staging and shipping of outbound products. LTL, Parcel and Truckload 3. Ensure accuracy of paperwork on product 4. Work with our Freight Carriers to ensure pickups are made on time. Escalate issues to terminal managers via phone call to ensure that shipments are picked up on time. 5. Ensure the efficient management of labor hours and consumable supplies within budget and work schedules including extra work days and shifts as needed 6. Minimize freight damage through proper packaging, making changes as needed. 7. Manage the IT infrastructure of the warehouse (wireless RF scanners) 8. Work to achieve 95% On-Time Delivery 9. Ensure the safe, clean and efficient operation of the warehouse 10. Suggest efficiency ideas, cost reduction measures and assists with the implementation of changes within outbound warehouse operations. Identifies problems and proposes solutions to other members of management. 11. Qualifications: Required Education and Experience 5 - 10 years of warehouse management experience, preferably in Outbound Distribution. Managing Direct Reports Preferred Education and Experience Associates or Bachelor level degree XA or Manhattan experience Additional Eligibility Qualifications Experience with ERPs and WMS (warehouse management software). Strong experience with Microsoft Office. Physical Demands: The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee will be on his/her feet for up to 8 hours per day. It will require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, etc. The employee may need to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time salary position, Typical shift is 12:00pm – 9:00pm Monday – Friday, hours/days of could change based on work load. Some Saturday hours may be required. Travel: The position will require less than 10% travel. All travel will be domestic.
