WHAT YOU DO
You will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and timely dispatch of outbound shipments from the warehouse to platform locations. You own and oversee all aspects of outbound shipping and last-minute delivery execution. Your role is responsible for coordinating daily outbound activities, leading a team of warehouse associates, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and productivity standards. You are a proactive communicator, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate and oversee daily outbound shipping operations, including order staging, trailer loading, and carrier scheduling. Support a team of dispatch associates, providing direction, training, and performance feedback. Lead and communicate daily pre-shift meetings with drivers regarding route changes, delivery priorities, and safety updates. Monitor outbound schedules to ensure on-time departures and resolve any delays or issues. Communicate with transportation providers, customer service, and warehouse teams to ensure accurate and timely shipments. Verify shipping documentation (BOLs, packing lists, load sheets) for accuracy and compliance. Ensure adherence to safety protocols and company policies during all outbound activities. Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time shipping, load accuracy, and dock efficiency. Assist in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline dispatch processes and reduce errors. Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) as needed. Ensure all driver paperwork, manifests, and loads are accurate, compliant, and complete prior to departure. Track delivery execution and respond to issues in real-time (traffic, reroutes, delays, etc.). Monitor driver return times, record exceptions, and assist in resolving delivery discrepancies. Maintain dispatch board, daily logs, and communicate any delays or delivery issues to the warehouse or store operations. Ensure all delivery equipment (vans, trucks, hand trucks, tablets) is functioning and assigned appropriately. Provide end-of-day reporting and ensure all loads have left the facility per schedule. Assist with hiring, onboarding, and mentoring new drivers as needed. Ability to drive different routes and ensure a high level of service to the platforms. Collaborate with inventory, picking, and receiving teams to ensure outbound coordination is seamless. Enforce all safety, compliance, and quality standards for outbound movement.QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong leadership and people management experience in warehouse settings. Experience using WMS or ERP systems (e.g., SAP) for receiving processes. Ability to delegate and coordinate across leads in various departments. Proficient in interpreting operational data and making real-time decisions. Skilled in enforcing safety and compliance policies. Ability to work various shifts in a 7/365 team orientated environment Able to communicate effectively using the English language Self-starter able to prioritize and handle various tasks simultaneously Ability to adapt to changing priorities and unexpected situations Proficiency required in reading, writing, and mathematics Ability to lead a small team and coordinate daily tasks effectively. Knowledge of safety procedures and vendor quality standards. Strong communication and organizational skills to support dock operations. Strong organizational and time management skills Attention to detail and commitment to quality control Effective communicator with ability to lead and motivate drivers Proficient in dispatch software, routing tools, and transportation logs Ability to analyze route performance and adjust for service optimization Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Knowledge of DOT compliance, safety protocols, and fleet coordination Ability to pass the Federal Criminal History Records Check, Paradies Background Check, and the applicable Department of Transportation requirements Computer work, heavy lifting (40 lbs.), long standing periods, climbing, lifting, bending, nights or weekend work, based in a store or group of stores; early morning, evening and weekend work and holidays Comply in all respects with the provisions of the Standards of Business Conduct Policy Commitment to safety, quality, and speed in fulfillment. High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or logistics certification preferred. 2+ years of experience in warehouse or distribution center operations, with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role. Strong understanding of outbound logistics, shipping documentation, and carrier coordination. Proficient in warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or overtime as needed. Forklift certification (if applicable) is preferred.
