Outage Fire Watch Technician

The Fire Watch Technician monitors and logs the movement of tools and materials in and out of the FME Zone, patrols areas of work for safety of work environment

Job Duties:

Patrol areas of work. Understand safety procedures and how to implement them. Contact and inform emergency personnel as soon as any issues arise. Report and map any signs of smoke or fire. Maintain the Fire Watch Logs. Identify and mitigate any potential issues that may cause or contribute to a fire 

Physical Considerations:

Due to the nature of working in the nuclear field, all candidates must be able to work in a variety of client locations, environments, and conditions. The physical demands listed below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this job.

Ability to work extended periods of time without days off when required.  Ability to be on one’s feet - this includes:  Remaining in a stationary position (often standing for prolonged periods) Ascending and/or descending stairs (potentially many flights of stairs)  Walking long distances (from parking to facility, within and around the facility - up to 5 miles/day)  Walking through client work facilities  Ability to constantly move about to accomplish tasks or move from one work location to another.  Ability to possibly remain in a seated, stationary position for prolonged periods.

Requirements:

Must be able to pass a background and drug screening.  Complete Nuclear CBTs (Computer Based Training)
