**Job Description**
BAE Systems, one of the world s leading defense contractors and a stable Fortune 500 Company, is hiring a Principal Industrial Controls / Operational Technology (OT) System Administrator to support the Radford Army Ammunition Plant (RFAAP) in Southwestern Virginia.
We are looking to hire an experienced onsite OT Systems Administrator to help develop, manage, and maintain our company s Operational Technology (Process Controls) computer systems. The individual will join our team working alongside the Radford control systems support team to support continuous operations and modernization projects for the manufacturing facility.
System Administrator Responsibilities:
+ Install, maintain and troubleshoot Windows-based OT computer systems, servers, and software
+ Work closely with manufacturing to maintain continuous operations and to identify future needs/improvements
+ Support modernization projects by specifying, designing, and implementing computer/server solutions
+ Integrate modern security solutions with existing control systems and computers/servers
+ Assist Cybersecurity team with incident response and investigation
+ Support continuous improvement by staying current on latest industry standards
+ Administration of computer/server policies and user accounts
+ Network Storage Management and File Transfer
+ Computer Snapshots, Backups, and Restoration
+ Development of computer scripts and Scheduled Tasks
+ Management of custom Windows Applications (VB, JavaScript)
+ Maintain computer / server documentation
+ Ability to support a 24/7 operation with scheduled after-hours on-call support.
**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
Successful applicants will be able to work independently, demonstrate strong initiative, an ability to organize daily tasks with minimal supervision, and demonstrate the following:
+ Bachelor of Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent industry experience
+ 6 years of relative experience with a Bachelors or 4 years with a master s degree
+ Proven experience with networks in an Operational Technology (OT) environment with knowledge of industrial control systems and process controls.
+ Strong hands on administration of windows based environments in production systems.
+ Experience designing and implementing improvements to enhance security, performance, and resiliency of control systems and servers.
+ Experience with industrial networks and protocols.
+ Hands on experience managing virtual environments (Hyper-V or VMware), including lifecycle and performance optimization.
+ Ability to work independently and take ownership with minimal supervision.
+ Comfortable making decisions in production environments with proper planning/risk management.
+ Strong documentation and communication skills.
+ Ability to identify gaps and drive improvements without constant direction.
**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**
+ Experience supporting cybersecurity auditing
+ Experience supporting Process Controls and Industrial Automation
+ Familiarity with Process Automation Protocols (Profinet, Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP, etc.) and Fieldbus Protocols (Profibus, Modbus, etc.)
+ Experience with SQL Server / MS Access database maintenance and administration
+ Experience with HMI / SCADA development (Wonderware, etc.)
+ Windows Domain Administration (User and Group Policies)
+ Hyper-V / VMware Management (Clients and Hosts)
+ Provide escalation level support for complex system and infrastructure issues.
+ Experience managing antivirus systems
+ Experience with patching tools such as SCCM in restricted/OT environments.
+ CompTIA A Certification
+ CompTIA Network Certification
+ CompTIA Security Certification
+ CompTIA Server Certification
+ Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA)
+ Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)
+ VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
+ Ability to get a Secret Clearance preferred but not required
+ Experience with structured change control (CAB/CRB)
+ Familiarity with STIG s, NIST, or similar frameworks.
**Pay Information**
Full-Time Salary Range: $88189 - $149922
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
