We are looking for an OT Architect to strengthen our architecture capabilities within the Risk, Business Assurance & Security (RBA&S) department. In this role, you will use your influence to drive architectural evolution, balancing decisiveness with flexibility.
Role and responsibilities
Architecture within RBA&S provides the strategic framework for solution delivery. The Target Architecture defines the long-term vision, while Incremental System Architectures outline the steps to reach each milestone.
The role supports a broad range of services—from on-site support to remote work enablement, hardware lifecycle management, and innovation in support processes and tooling. There is a strong link to operational IT and OT support processes, with a focus on continuous innovation and secure, compliant service delivery.
As an OT Architect, you will define and maintain the OT vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with evolving workforce needs, operational demands, and technological advancements. Your role includes defining the next architectural steps that meet the needs of diverse user communities while integrating solutions into a cohesive, long-term roadmap.
You will collaborate with business stakeholders to understand current and future operational needs, translating them into a clear OT vision and blueprint. You will align with stakeholders on architectural decisions and ensure adoption across the organization. Staying on top of OT-related initiatives and fostering strong collaboration with peers and stakeholders is essential—especially in the context of risk mitigation, compliance, and secure operations
Education and experienceTo help us address the complex challenges in the OT landscape, you’ll need:
MSc. in IT, Engineering, or a related field.
Over 5 years of relevant experience in OT or hybrid IT/OT environments.
Proven experience as a System or OT Architect in complex, high-tech environments.
Deep understanding of industrial control systems, edge computing, and secure OT network architectures.
Experience designing and presenting high-level OT architectural designs and long-term roadmaps.
Familiarity with modeling languages (e.g., ArchiMate) and architectural frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, ISA-95, NIST CSF).

Deep understanding of OT security, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
Familiarity with architectural frameworks (TOGAF, ISA-95, Zachman, etc.).

Ability to communicate across technical, business, and security communities.
Ability to guide teams while maintaining autonomy and alignment with RBA&S principles.
Other informationRelevant certifications such as GICSP (Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional), ISA/IEC 62443, or equivalent are highly preferred.
Agile or SAFe certification preferred.
Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban; SAFe experience is a plus.

This position is based in the Netherlands (Veldhoven). The employee will report to the Security 2nd Line manager for OT/ICS and will be part of the Risk & Business Assurance & Security organization.
This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
