OSP Network Engineer

Our large Telecommunications customer is seeking an Outside Plant Engineer who will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and optimizing network infrastructure in the Bloomsburg/Williamsport/Pottsville PA area. This work will include designing upgrades, repairs, and enhancements to the Outside Plant telephony network which includes all structures (such as poles and conduit systems), cable (copper & fiber) and associated equipment for aerial, underground, buried, and customer premise equipment for multi-tenant buildings. The Engineer will monitor and analyze residential requirements for multi-tenant building locations within a geographical turf and design solutions to extend cable or copper services into residential locations. He/she will coordinate with a variety of departments and also have direct customer contact with building management, property owners, and/or residential tenants. The Engineer needs the ability to work in a diverse environment and must be able to solve complex problems with innovative solutions. The Engineer must be able to price out solutions and select the most effective design. The Engineer has the authority, up to a set dollar limit, to choose and implement solutions independently.
Ultimately, this Engineer must be capable of designing routine and specific outside plant work orders, both distribution and feeder, and must be capable of providing support to the outside plant work forces.
Other responsibilities include:
Leading large-scale projects for FTTP, FTTC, iEN, HBW and IOF driving productivity through use of vendor resources to meet deliverables.
Engaging appropriate internal and external organizations and individuals with professional written/verbal communications to accomplish required tasks.
Coordinating project activities with contractors, developers, municipalities and consultants.
Proposing solutions supported by sound engineering and operational productivity to achieve goals in creative and effective ways.
Recognizing vulnerabilities in network infrastructure and makes intelligent decisions to ensure reliabilitywithin financial constraints.
Preparing detailed cost analysis, project specifications, requisitions, and business justifications.
Processing reports, vendor invoices, material receipts, and other administrative duties.
Receiving general instruction, otherwise performs independently with minimal supervision, exercising latitude to achieve daily objectives and approaches to critical/complex assignments.
Communicating project status and progress to team members and customers.
Meeting with customers on the job site, explaining the EUCR requirements and job scope
