OSP Inspector – Morrisville, NJ (Contract‑to‑Hire) Location: Greater Morrisville, NJ Employment Type: Contract‑to‑Hire Pay Rate: Up to $30/hour, depending on experience Vehicle Provided: Yes Work Environment: 100% Field‑Based About the Role We are seeking OSP Inspectors to support a large‑scale fiber expansion initiative for a leading fiber provider. This program is focused on constructing underground fiber routes to new data centers, enabling next‑generation connectivity and high‑capacity infrastructure for enterprise customers. In this role, you will act as the eyes and ears of the project team in the field. Your primary responsibility will be documenting construction progress and site conditions using an iPad—capturing photos, recording observations, and providing daily visibility to remote stakeholders. Key Responsibilities This position focuses on observation, documentation, and communication rather than hands‑on construction work. Inspectors will photograph underground fiber construction activities and surrounding site conditions, upload and share images daily, and record basic notes related to progress, issues, and general alignment with construction plans. Any concerns, discrepancies, or potential risks should be communicated promptly to the assigned Construction Manager to ensure timely resolution. Required Skills & Qualifications Candidates should have prior experience in utility or construction inspection, with outside plant (OSP) experience considered a strong plus but not required. Experience with underground utilities—such as directional drilling, trenching, or conduit placement—is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate is comfortable using an iPad or similar device for photo documentation and reporting, able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and willing to travel locally to active construction sites.
