Job Title: Organizational Design Consultant Location: Newark, NJ Type: Contract (3 months) Contractor Work Model: Onsite Hours: 8:00AM to 4:30PM M-F Duties and Responsibilities: + Conduct desk audits, interviews, and focus groups with department heads and employees to evaluate job roles, responsibilities, and reporting structures. + Perform job analyses to document core duties, required competencies, and performance expectations for each role. + Review and update job descriptions, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with organizational goals. + Develop and maintain a skills inventory to assess workforce capabilities and identify skill gaps. + Analyze departmental functions to identify redundancies, inefficiencies, overlaps, and opportunities for optimization. + Recommend organizational restructuring and process improvements based on functional alignment and operational needs. + Collaborate with HR, leadership, and business units to ensure smooth implementation of recommended changes. + Provide strategic insights on workforce planning, talent management, and succession planning initiatives. + Prepare clear documentation and reports to support decision-making and leadership presentations. Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). + Proven experience in organizational design, job analysis, and workforce planning. + Strong knowledge of desk audits, job evaluation methodologies, and HR best practices. + Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate findings into actionable recommendations. + Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills. + Experience with HR systems and workforce analytics tools is a plus.
