Oral Genealogies (OGEN) Senior Program Manager

General Requirements for the Church Workforce 

To help the Church accomplish its religious mission, all employees must hold a current temple recommend (if endowed) or be temple worthy as indicated by a certification from an ecclesiastical leader (if not endowed). Regular attendance and timely arrival at the assigned work location is required to accomplish the work of furthering the mission of the Church. 

Purposes 

FamilySearch has collected and preserved over 2.5 million Oral Genealogy interviews and continues to collect about ~15K additional interviews each week from 14 countries.  Oral Genealogy interviews include family pedigrees of each interviewee, pictures, and audio files with oral stories in local dialects, including data about their tribe, family, or village.  This position is critical to help manage our program administration, planning, budgeting, projections, and operations globally to accelerate this data collection and preservation work for records-at-risk and indigenous populations around the world.  

This Oral Genealogies (OGEN) Senior Program Manager role manages the activities of one or more diverse groups or functional areas’ local Operations Managers and Vendors involved in strategic decisions of a division. This role will work with senior leaders (may include the Managing Director, senior directors, and General Authorities) in defining and articulating the impact of the designated program as well as identifying the path moving forward to meet the strategic objectives of the department. Responsible for and contributes significantly to cost containment and risk mitigation through constant contractor and budget management. This role is a senior manager in the Global Oral Genealogies Team at FamilySearch.
