OR Nurses Needed – Make a Difference When It Matters Most!
Operating RoomRegistered Nurse (RN) The Operating Room RN is a highly skilled anddetail-oriented nursing professional responsible for providing safe andefficient care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. This role requiresstrong critical thinking, technical expertise, and the ability to thrive in afast-paced, team-oriented environment. The OR RN collaborates closely withsurgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical teams to ensure optimal patientoutcomes before, during, and after surgery. Essential Duties andResponsibilities · Apply the nursing process to assess, plan,implement, and evaluate care for surgical patients · Conduct preoperative assessments, includingverifying patient identity, surgical site, and consent · Prepare the operating room by ensuring allequipment, instruments, and supplies are sterile and ready · Assist with positioning, prepping, and drapingpatients for surgery · Maintain strict adherence to aseptic andinfection control techniques · Monitor patient status intraoperatively,including vital signs and anesthesia response · Anticipate surgeon needs and provide instrumentsand supplies promptly · Document all intraoperative care accurately inthe electronic health record (EHR) · Provide postoperative care, including monitoringrecovery and managing pain · Educate patients and families on post-surgicalcare and discharge instructions · Respond promptly to emergencies such asbleeding, cardiac arrest, or anesthesia complications · Advocate for patient safety and upholdconfidentiality and HIPAA standards Minimum Requirements · Current Registered Nurse License in the state ofpractice · Minimum one year of professional nursingexperience; OR experience strongly preferred · Completion of Amergis' Competency Program (ifapplicable) · Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred) · TB screening and health clearance (as requiredby contract or regulation) · Compliance with all federal, state, and localregulations · Successful completion of new hire orientationand OR-specific training · Strong communication skills and proficiency inEnglish · Basic computer literacy · Must be at least 18 years of age Benefits · Competitive pay & weekly paychecks · Health, dental, vision, and life insurance · 401(k) savings plan · Awards and recognition programs Interested in learning more about pay rates?
