ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Performance of Multidisciplinary Surgical Imaging to include:
• · Standard X-ray imaging including OR Miscounts, surgical site verification, Rad-Link navigation and post-operative imaging as ordered.
• · Responsible for the operation and manipulation of Mobile Fluoroscopic Imaging (C-arm Imaging) to support placement and verification of surgical implants, scoliosis spinal surgery, deep brain stimulator placement, cystography, Transsphenoidal hypophysectomy, Brain Lab Stealth supported surgery, 3D C-arm spins and reconstructions, Super Dimension Fluoroscopic Navigation, ION robotic pulmonary imaging, Mazor X – Robotic Imaging Assistance to aid surgical approach. Radlink imaging with for intraop confirmation. IR and Vascular Imaging with subtraction and road mapping.
• · Operation of the Mobile Computed Tomography unit (O-arm and CIOS Spin) in the Operating Room providing surgical guidance and verification of hardware placement.
• · Operates imaging equipment using established guidelines and imaging protocols.
• · Ensures proper safety standards are met.
• · Instructs students and performs preceptor duties when necessary.
• · Performs quality checks on equipment.
• · Demonstrates knowledge of Medical Center information systems.
• · Demonstrates knowledge of imaging techniques, protocols and billing.
• · Learns new techniques and technology through educational reading and attendance of seminars or lectures.
• · In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Graduate of an accredited JRC program in Radiography required. Associate’s Degree in Radiography preferred. Students currently enrolled in accredited programs may proactively apply for open tech positions, but must have achieved certification prior to start planned start date.
Experience: No experience required
Licensure: Registered Radiologic Technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT R.T.) must be accomplished prior to planned start date. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required. Valid Virginia Driver’s License (VADL) may be required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping and traveling, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive); Repetitive motion: (computer keyboard). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, cold, dust, noise, radiation, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
