Summary: Seeking an Optical Engineer to lead the development and commissioning of advanced optical systems from concept through operational product support.

Requirements:

BS in optical engineering or optical sciences; MS preferred Over 5 years of optical engineering experience Proficiency in optical system design using Zemax Experience with lab assembly and alignment of complex optical systems Solid understanding of optical theory and principles

Preferred Skills:

Laser communications system experience Experience with lasers in benchtop or field applications Experience in production facility leadership Familiarity with autocollimators, alignment telescopes, interferometers Successful system deployments history Project management experience

Responsibilities:

Define top-level system requirements with customers Design optical systems and instrumentation to meet specifications using professional tools like Zemax Analyze optical systems for WFE, stray light, tolerance sensitivity against requirements Conduct searches for suitable optical components and interact with vendors Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to flow down requirements Mature products and processes through documentation and procedure development Write design documentation, operational specifications, project briefings Assist in selecting and preparing new proposals Engage directly with customers through briefings, presentations, meetings

Pay Details: $140,000.00 to $160,000.00 per year
