Ops Leader - Production Supervisor
Job Description SummaryProvides leadership for production line activities in support of high-volume turbine assembly operations. Responsible for Operational Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost, managing a team of assembly technicians. Perform the daily operations of plants to ensure reliability and consistency on the production line. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures.

Roles and Responsibilities

Provide oversight and management of front-line manufacturing hourly employeesDeveloping in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline; uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategyIn-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work; In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the areaUses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance; uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks; has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems; may use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisionsDevelop an operational year plan for own manufacturing activities of the team; suggest improvements in products, processes, and proceduresProvide leadership to a team that builds a team environment with safety as a top priorityWork with cross-functional peers to troubleshoot and resolve technical and quality issues as they ariseDevelop and support the professional growth of all employeesSupport all company workplace policies, including attendance and safety objectivesProvide direction and support needs for assigned production employees/technicians, which includes resource and coverage planning, scheduling overtime, Kronos/timekeeping and supporting factory prioritiesWork to maintain and further develop Visual Management, including support for 5-S, materials and metric displaysMonitor performance against factory/business objectives (operational and financial) and take proactive action to solve problems and mitigate risk in meeting these objectivesEnsure compliance with business, quality and safety standardsDevelop, coordinate, lead,  execute, and monitor daily production plan goals and targetsDevelop and execute training plansCoordinate consistent and effective shift-to-shift transitionDevelop and implement process controlsSupport Cell Leader in the strategic planning of workforce, equipment, and other resourcesCoordinate resources to achieve goals with a timely and cost-effective strategySupport, encourage, and drive core manufacturing and Lean principles by providing adequate time for training defining and influencing teams to accomplish continuous improvement projects

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years in manufacturing or operations)Ability to work weekends, any shift, flexible hours when needed
